Hokies Set to Surge Against Green Wave at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial

As the Virginia Tech Hokies prepare for their upcoming clash against the Tulane Green Wave, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Hokies, who have had a rollercoaster season, are looking to capitalize on their recent momentum following a commanding 55-17 victory over the Cavaliers on November 25th.

In that game, Virginia Tech's offense was nothing short of spectacular, racking up an impressive total of 500 yards. The rushing attack was particularly lethal, contributing 252 yards and three touchdowns to the scoreboard. This ground dominance is expected to be a key factor against Tulane.

VT's defense also made headlines with six sacks and ten quarterback hits in their last outing. Such defensive prowess will be crucial in containing Tulane's offensive schemes. Moreover, VT's special teams cannot be overlooked; they returned a kickoff for a touchdown and maintained perfect field goal and extra point percentages in recent games.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for VT this season. They suffered a close defeat at home against North Carolina State with a score of 28-35 on November 18th. Despite this setback, there were positives to take away from that performance as well – like their passing game which yielded three touchdowns.

Looking further back at the Hokies' performance on November 11th against Boston College reveals another strong showing where they amassed an astonishing total yardage of 600 with both passing and rushing contributing significantly to their dominant 48-22 win.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for VT to showcase its balanced attack once again. While respecting Tulane’s capabilities is important – after all they have earned their place as opponents – it is clear that if Virginia Tech can maintain discipline while exploiting their dynamic offense and robust defense, they stand in good stead for another win.

Fans should mark December 27th on their calendars when these two teams face off at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis at 2:00 PM EST. The action will be broadcasted live on ESPN - ensuring supporters won’t miss what promises to be an enthralling encounter between the Hokies and the Green Wave.
