Huskies Edge Out Beavers at Alaska Airlines Field in Intense Football Showdown

The Washington Huskies, with a record of 11-2, narrowly defeated the Oregon State Beavers, who now stand at 10-3, in a closely contested game that ended 24-21. The Huskies' victory was hard-fought on their home turf at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium before an energetic crowd of 62,142 spectators.

The game saw the Washington Huskies display a balanced offensive attack. The passing game accumulated 298 yards with an average of almost six yards per play and included one touchdown pass that covered 24 yards. The quarterback completed 30 out of his 52 attempts and achieved a passer rating of over one hundred. On the ground, the rushing offense contributed two touchdowns and racked up an average of over four yards per carry for a total of one hundred yards.


Washington's defense was equally impressive, limiting the Beavers to just twenty-one points throughout the contest. They managed to sack Oregon State's quarterback once for a loss of fourteen yards and recorded three tackles for loss totaling twenty-two negative yards against their opponents. Furthermore, they recovered one fumble which added four crucial turnover yards to their tally.


Special teams also played a pivotal role in this tight encounter; Washington's field goal unit was perfect on the day with their kicker converting his only attempt from twenty-two yards out. Kickoff returns were productive as well, averaging nearly twenty-seven yards across three returns with the longest being thirty.


Penalties could have been costly for the Huskies as they incurred nine penalties amounting to ninety-seven penalty-yards but managed to overcome this obstacle through sheer determination and focus on both sides of the ball.
