In a compelling display of skill and determination, the Washington Huskies emerged victorious over the UCLA Bruins with a final score of 31-19. This win brings the Huskies' season record to an impressive 6-5, while the Bruins now stand at 4-6. The game, held at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium in Seattle, saw a turnout of 68,811 fans who witnessed the Huskies' triumph firsthand.

Defensive Mastery Leads to Victory


The defensive unit of the Washington Huskies was nothing short of spectacular, contributing significantly to their win against the Bruins. Russell Davis II led this charge with an outstanding performance that included three sacks and two tackles for loss, amassing a total sack yardage of 28 yards. His efforts were instrumental in disrupting UCLA's offensive rhythm throughout the game.


Alphonzo Tuputala also made his presence felt on defense by securing nine tackles and one sack for ten yards lost by UCLA. His ability to read plays and make crucial stops added another layer to Washington's defensive strategy.


The special teams played their part as well, with Jack McCallister executing punts that pinned UCLA deep in their territory twice out of his two attempts, totaling 73 yards.


Offensive Highlights


On offense, Demond Williams Jr. showcased his dual-threat capabilities by throwing for one touchdown and rushing for another 31 yards on six attempts. His performance was complemented by Jonah Coleman's ground game dominance; Coleman rushed for 95 yards on twenty-one carries and found the end zone twice.


Receiving contributions were spread across multiple players with Giles Jackson leading in receptions (eight) for forty-three yards which helped maintain drive momentum at critical junctures during the match.
