Game Highlights

The game was marked by Wisconsin's offensive prowess and defensive solidity. Quarterback Braedyn Locke led the charge with an impressive performance, throwing for 359 yards and three touchdowns on 31 attempts. His connection with wide receiver Trech Kekahuna was particularly lethal; Kekahuna racked up 134 receiving yards on six receptions, finding the end zone twice. The ground game was equally effective for Wisconsin as Tawee Walker rushed for 94 yards on 19 carries, scoring three touchdowns.

On defense, Wisconsin was impenetrable. The team tallied three sacks and five tackles for loss while forcing two turnovers. Sebastian Cheeks stood out on defense with one and a half sacks and two tackles combined. Safety Kamo'i Latu made his presence felt by forcing a fumble that underscored Wisconsin's defensive dominance throughout the game.

Special teams also contributed to this comprehensive team win. Punter Atticus Bertrams had an average net yardage of 47.5 across two punts, pinning Purdue deep in their own territory when needed.

Player Performances

Several players had standout performances that contributed significantly to the victory. Besides Locke's aerial assault and Walker's rushing success, Cade Yacamelli provided versatility in the running back position by adding another touchdown to his name along with 39 rushing yards from just five attempts.

Defensively, Jaheim Thomas added to Purdue’s woes by recording one sack among his contributions that stifled any momentum Purdue hoped to build.

Nathanial Vakos remained perfect in kicking duties by converting all seven extra-point attempts and adding a field goal from within thirty yards out to cap off Wisconsin’s scoring spree.

Looking Ahead

The next challenge for the Wisconsin Badgers will be against Rutgers Scarlet Knights at SHI Stadium in Piscataway on October 12th at noon EDT.
