Air Force Falcons Edge Out Fresno State Bulldogs at Save Mart Center

In a closely contested conference game, the Air Force Falcons secured a narrow victory over the Fresno State Bulldogs with a final score of 51-48. The Falcons now hold an improved record, while the Bulldogs face another setback in their season tally.

The game at Save Mart Center saw the Air Force Falcons demonstrate resilience and tactical play. Despite trailing in the first half with only 20 points to Fresno State's 26, they turned the tables in the second half by adding 31 points to their score. The team's overall field goal percentage was modest at 32 percent from their total attempts of 54 shots. However, they excelled at free throws, making eight out of nine attempts which translates to an impressive 89 percent success rate.


The Falcons' defense was on display as they tallied three blocks and four steals throughout the game. Offensively, they were facilitated by fifteen assists that contributed significantly to their scoring efforts. In terms of rebounds, Air Force dominated with a total of thirty-five rebounds; twenty-one defensive and fourteen offensive.


On offense, three-point shots were crucial for Air Force as they made nine out of twenty-five attempts resulting in a solid 36 percent completion rate from beyond the arc. Their two-point field goals did not fare as well with only eight successful shots out of twenty-nine attempts giving them a lower completion rate of approximately 28 percent.


The Fresno State Bulldogs put up strong resistance and had some notable statistics themselves including six blocks and six steals indicating an aggressive defensive effort. They also managed to convert eighteen out two-point shot attempts leading to a higher two-point shooting percentage than that of Air Force at around 47 percent.


However, turnovers proved costly for both teams; ten for Air Force and eleven for Fresno State which resulted in ten points off turnovers for each side respectively.
