Falcons' Flight Grounded by Ranked Aztecs at Clune Arena

In a contest that saw the Air Force Falcons fall to the San Diego State Aztecs, the scoreboard read 77-64 in favor of the visitors. The Falcons, unranked this season, now hold a record reflecting their valiant efforts on court but falling short of victory. The 24th-ranked Aztecs improved their standing with another win added to their tally.

Air Force Falcons VS San Diego State Aztecs

The game at Clune Arena was marked by intense competition and a display of tactical basketball. Despite trailing with only 20 points in the first half compared to the Aztecs' dominant 45, the Falcons showed resilience and determination as they soared back with an impressive 44 points in the second half. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit incurred from a tough first half.

The Falcons' performance was notable for several reasons. They managed to match their opponents' three-point shooting accuracy at an impressive rate of fifty percent from beyond the arc, sinking ten three-pointers throughout the game. Their defensive efforts resulted in seven steals and two blocks but were overshadowed by fourteen turnovers which translated into just six points off turnovers for them compared to eighteen for San Diego State.

On offense, Air Force's field goal percentage stood at forty-six percent with twenty-one successful shots out of forty-six attempts. From within paint they accumulated twenty-two points but struggled from free throw line making only twelve out of twenty-one attempts resulting in fifty-seven percent success rate.

San Diego State's statistics also deserve recognition; they shot fifty-two percent on two-point attempts and maintained a field goal percentage over fifty percent overall. Their defense was solid with five blocks and eight steals while committing nineteen personal fouls – same as Air Force – without any player being ejected or fouled out.

The crowd at Clune Arena witnessed an engaging battle where times tied thrice and lead changed once during playtime which lasted three hours and twenty minutes according to official timekeeping records.

Looking ahead, fans can mark their calendars for when Air Force will host Fresno State Bulldogs at Clune Arena on February 10th at 1:00 PM Mountain Time (MT). This upcoming conference game will be available for viewing via MW Network online broadcasts ensuring supporters won't miss any action from Colorado Springs venue located on Field House Drive within zip code area 80840.
