Can the Air Force Falcons Soar Past UNLV at Clune Arena?

As the Air Force Falcons gear up to host the UNLV Runnin' Rebels at Clune Arena, fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be an electrifying encounter. The Falcons, coming off a nail-bitingly close game against Northern Colorado Bears on December 21st with a score of 79-83, have shown they can put up a fight until the final buzzer.

Air Force Falcons VS UNLV Rebels

In that game, the Falcons exhibited remarkable three-point shooting accuracy with a 52 percent success rate from beyond the arc. This long-range prowess was complemented by their ability to dish out assists, recording 21 in total which speaks volumes about their team chemistry and unselfish playstyle. However, turnovers were an area of concern as they gave up possession 11 times.

The defensive end saw them block five shots but also commit enough fouls to foul out one player. Rebounding was another area where AFA struggled slightly against Northern Colorado; they'll need to tighten up their efforts on both ends of the court if they want to control UNLV's tempo.

Comparing this performance with their previous games reveals some consistency in areas that could decide their fate against UNLV. Against Eastern Washington Eagles on December 9th, despite losing with a score of 68-73, AFA managed an impressive comeback in the second half by scoring 42 points compared to just 26 in the first half. Their resilience is commendable and could be pivotal when facing adversity.

Their defense generated turnovers leading to points and showcased an ability for shot-blocking but again faltered slightly on personal fouls and ejections – aspects that will need attention before taking on UNLV.

When it comes down to it, AFA's key strengths lie in their three-point shooting and assist-to-turnover ratio which stood at a solid 2.1 against Northern Colorado – indicating good decision-making under pressure.

On February 22nd at Clune Arena in Colorado Springs – home turf for AFA – fans can expect these factors to play significant roles once more as they take on UNLV Runnin' Rebels who will undoubtedly bring challenges of their own into this matchup.

For those unable or unwilling to brave what may well be chilly February weather conditions outside Clune Arena come game night; rest assured you won't miss any action thanks Fox Sports 1 broadcasting nationally starting at channel number two hundred nineteen right around midnight Eastern Time (ET).
