The contest, held at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, saw the Air Force Falcons start strong with an impressive first-half performance scoring 30 points. However, they couldn't maintain their momentum and added only 26 more in the second half. Despite shooting a respectable 59 percent from two-point range and making seven three-pointers at a rate of 25 percent, their overall field goal percentage was just 40 percent.

The Falcons' defense managed to block six shots and made six steals but struggled to contain the Lobos' offense which put up an impressive display inside the paint scoring 50 points. On top of that, turnovers were a significant issue for Air Force as they gave up possession fourteen times which led to nine points for New Mexico.

On offense, Air Force's free throw accuracy was decent at 69 percent but paled in comparison to New Mexico's remarkable free throw performance at an astounding rate of 92 percent. Moreover, while both teams had one player foul out each during playtime that lasted over three hours; it was personal fouls where both teams were almost neck-and-neck – fifteen for Air Force and sixteen for New Mexico.

Rebounding also proved challenging for Air Force as they gathered twenty-five rebounds total – twenty personal rebounds including four offensive ones – whereas New Mexico dominated with forty-five rebounds with fifteen coming from offensive plays alone.

As fans look forward to future games after this tough loss on neutral ground witnessed by an attendance of five thousand eight hundred fifty-eight spectators; they will be keenly watching how their team can improve on areas such as turnovers and rebounding which could make all difference moving forward into what promises another exciting season ahead.

Remembering this encounter will surely serve as motivation when these two teams next meet on court; until then fans can catch upcoming broadcasts featuring their beloved team aiming for redemption after this setback.
