Desert Financial Arena Set to Host Clash Between Arizona State Sun Devils and Sam Houston State Bearkats

As the Arizona State Sun Devils gear up to face the Sam Houston State Bearkats at Desert Financial Arena, fans are eager for insights into what could unfold on the hardwood. The Sun Devils have shown a pattern of resilience and adaptability in their recent games, which may very well set the tone for their upcoming encounter.

In their last game against Vanderbilt Commodores on November 25th, ASU demonstrated a robust offensive strategy, securing an impressive 82 points victory. Their field goal percentage stood at 52 percent with a particularly strong showing from beyond the arc where they shot an outstanding 46 percent. This level of accuracy from three-point range could be a decisive factor against SHSU.

The defensive prowess of ASU was also notable; they managed to block five shots and steal the ball five times from Vanderbilt. This defensive tenacity will be crucial in curtailing SHSU's scoring opportunities. Moreover, ASU's ability to convert points off turnovers was limited in that game, something they'll need to capitalize on more effectively against SHSU.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for ASU in recent outings. They faced a tough challenge against BYU Cougars on November 24th where they were held to just 49 points and struggled with field goal attempts at only 33 percent success rate. The three-point performance was particularly concerning as it plummeted to just 10 percent. To ensure victory over SHSU, ASU must shake off this inconsistency and revert back to their more dominant form.

ASU's encounter with UMass Lowell River Hawks on November 17th showcased their ability to grind out wins even when not playing at their best; overcoming a halftime deficit to win by two points indicates mental toughness and clutch play—a trait that might come handy if things get tight against SHSU.

The Bearkats are no pushovers themselves; coming into Desert Financial Arena will require ASU not only maintain but elevate their level of play across both ends of the court. Fans should expect an intense battle where every possession counts and where ASU's depth and shooting proficiency could ultimately tip the scales in their favor.

Looking ahead, fans can mark their calendars for November 29th at 9:00 PM when these two teams clash in Tempe—home advantage playing its part as well as fan support being pivotal elements for an Arizona State triumph. The game will be broadcasted live on Pac-12 Network for those who can't make it in person but still wish to catch all the action live from Desert Financial Arena.
