Clash at Dickies Arena: Arizona State Sun Devils vs TCU Horned Frogs in Men's Basketball Showdown

The Sun Devils have shown a pattern of high-scoring games with an impressive offensive display. In their last game on December 10th against the San Diego Toreros, they scored 84 points but fell short by just five points in a high-scoring affair that ended 89-84. Despite the loss, ASU demonstrated their ability to put up big numbers on offense with a notable 41 percent success rate from beyond the arc and an overall field goal percentage of around 48 percent.

Defensively, however, there is room for improvement. The Sun Devils allowed 89 points in their last outing and will need to tighten up if they hope to contain the Horned Frogs' attack. With only five blocks and thirteen steals during that game compared to seven blocks and ten steals by TCU in their previous match-up against another opponent, it's clear that defensive pressure could be key for ASU.

One area where ASU has excelled is capitalizing on turnovers; they scored an impressive 26 points off turnovers against San Diego. This aggressive defense leading to fast-break opportunities could be crucial when facing TCU.

ASU also needs more consistency from the free-throw line; shooting just under 60 percent is something they'll want to improve upon as close games often come down to free throws made in clutch moments.

The Horned Frogs will not make it easy for them though. They've been formidable opponents this season and will have home-court advantage at Dickies Arena which cannot be overlooked.

Fans should expect ASU's dynamic offense led by standout performers who have consistently contributed significant points per game throughout this season. However, whether or not this offensive firepower can overcome TCU's defense remains one of the intriguing storylines heading into this matchup.

Looking ahead at what promises to be an exciting contest between these two teams – both hungry for victory – fans should mark their calendars for December 17th at Dickies Arena where tip-off is set for late evening local time (9:00 PM CST). The game will also be broadcast nationally on ESPNU channel number 208 so supporters won't miss any action regardless of where they are.
