In their last game on December 10 against the San Diego Toreros, ASU put up a valiant effort scoring 84 points. Despite this high-scoring affair, they fell short by five points in a thrilling contest that ended with 89-84 on the scoreboard. The team demonstrated their ability to push the pace with 31 fast break points and capitalized on turnovers by adding another 26 points to their tally. However, they struggled from the free-throw line with only a 58 percent success rate which ultimately cost them valuable points.

On December 7, ASU faced off against SMU Mustangs and emerged victorious with a tight scoreline of 76-74. Their defensive prowess was evident as they racked up five blocks and ten steals leading to critical possessions. Moreover, converting free throws proved crucial as they hit an impressive rate of approximately 74 percent from the line.

Earlier in December (3rd), ASU secured another win against San Francisco Dons by outscoring them narrowly at Desert Financial Arena. The final score read 72-61 in favor of ASU who managed an efficient shooting night from inside the arc hitting over half of their two-point attempts.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for ASU to capitalize on its strengths while addressing areas that need improvement such as free throw accuracy and consistency throughout both halves. With home-court advantage and having shown resilience in tight games recently, there is optimism among fans that ASU can deliver a strong performance against Northwestern.

The Wildcats should not be underestimated though; any lapse in concentration or execution by ASU could swing momentum in favor of Northwestern who will undoubtedly come prepared for battle.

Fans eager to support Arizona State Sun Devils can mark their calendars for December 21st when these two teams face off at Footprint Center located at Phoenix AZ zip code:85004 starting at 8:30 PM Eastern Time (ET). This exciting encounter will also be broadcasted nationally on ESPN2 channel number:209 ensuring no one misses out on what is set up to be an enthralling contest between two determined teams.
