SMU Mustangs VS Arizona State Sun Devils

The game, held at Moody Coliseum in Dallas, saw the home team trailing by five points after the first half. However, it was during the second half that Arizona State truly showcased their offensive capabilities by adding an additional 47 points to their score. The Sun Devils demonstrated remarkable shooting accuracy from beyond the arc with a three-point percentage of 42 and overall field goal percentage of 44.

Arizona State's aggressive play was evident as they outrebounded SMU with a total rebound count of 41 compared to SMU's 34. This tenacity paid off in second-chance points where they led with 23 against SMU's ten. Furthermore, Arizona State capitalized on turnovers scoring 14 points off them and maintained control throughout much of the game which is reflected in their assist-to-turnover ratio of about two.

Defensively, both teams were active around the rim; however, Arizona State managed four blocks while also accumulating eight steals which contributed to their transition offense and fast break opportunities resulting in eleven fast break points.

The Mustangs fought valiantly but struggled from two-point range with only nine made shots out of thirty-one attempts leading to a low two-point shooting percentage near twenty-nine percent. Their free throw performance was slightly better than average at sixty-seven percent but not enough to close down on Arizona State’s lead.

Notable performances included strong defensive rebounds from both sides; twenty-one for Arizona State and twenty for SMU respectively. Offensively speaking though, it was clear that Arizona State had more depth as thirteen offensive rebounds were secured by them compared to eight by SMU.

As fans look forward to future games, they can anticipate watching their team again when The Arizona State Sun Devils face off against Creighton Bluejays at Michelob ULTRA Arena located in Paradise Nevada on December twelve at seven PM Central Time (CT). This upcoming match will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports one channel two hundred nineteen for those who wish to follow along live.
