Sun Devils Set to Clash with Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder Showdown

As the Arizona State Sun Devils prepare to face off against the Colorado Buffaloes at the CU Events Center, fans are looking for signs of a rebound after a string of challenging games. The Sun Devils' recent performances have been a mixed bag, but there's reason to believe they can turn the tide in their upcoming encounter.

In their last game on December 21st against Northwestern Wildcats, ASU struggled offensively, scoring only 46 points—a stark contrast to their opponents' 65. Their field goal percentage was just 31 percent and from beyond the arc, a paltry 17 percent. However, it wasn't all doom and gloom; ASU showed defensive prowess with six steals and managed eight fast break points.

Earlier on December 17th against TCU Horned Frogs, ASU's performance dipped further as they lost by a significant margin—59 points to TCU's commanding 79. The game highlighted areas for improvement: turnovers were high at nineteen and assist-to-turnover ratio was low at just over half an assist per turnover.

However, looking back at December 10th provides some optimism. Against San Diego Toreros, ASU scored an impressive 84 points with commendable stats including thirteen steals and nineteen assists. They shot better from the field at nearly half their attempts made (48 percent) and converted on fast breaks with thirty-one points.

The key takeaway is inconsistency but also potential for explosive playmaking that could surprise COLO if properly harnessed. The Sun Devils need to focus on reducing turnovers while maintaining aggressive defense that can lead to easy transition baskets.

ASU fans should expect an intense battle as they go up against COLO in Boulder—a team that will be defending its home court fiercely. To come out victorious, it will be crucial for ASU players to step up collectively; improving shooting accuracy while keeping defensive intensity high throughout each quarter.

The scheduled game is set for February 9th at CU Events Center in Boulder, CO starting at 6:00 PM MST (8:00 PM EST). Fans won't want to miss this matchup which will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports 1 channel number two hundred nineteen—mark your calendars!
