Arizona Wildcats Set to Clash with USC Trojans at McKale Center

As the Arizona Wildcats prepare to host the USC Trojans at the McKale Center, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a riveting matchup. The Wildcats, coming off a nail-biting game against Florida Atlantic Owls on December 23rd that went into double overtime, showed both resilience and areas for improvement. Despite out-rebounding the Owls 52-39 and scoring an impressive 20 second-chance points, ARIZ fell short by just one point in a 96-95 loss.

USC Trojans VS Arizona Wildcats

The statistics from that game reveal key insights into how ARIZ might fare against USC. The Wildcats' ability to dominate on the glass is likely to be a significant factor once again. With an impressive defensive rebound count of 28 and an even more notable offensive rebound tally of 22 against FAU, they have demonstrated their prowess in controlling the boards.

However, shooting efficiency remains a concern for ARIZ. Against FAU, they shot only 39 percent from the field and an underwhelming 28 percent from beyond the arc. To secure victory over USC, it's imperative that Arizona improves its field goal percentage while maintaining its aggressive rebounding strategy.

In contrast to their performance against FAU, when facing Alabama Crimson Tide on December 21st at Footprint Center in Phoenix, ARIZ showcased their ability to convert turnovers into points – scoring an impressive 26 points off turnovers compared to Alabama's seven. This level of defensive pressure could be pivotal in disrupting USC's rhythm.

ARIZ also has shown they can run up the score when necessary as evidenced by their previous win over Alabama where they put up a solid total of 87 points with commendable free throw accuracy (73 percent). Their fast break execution was particularly lethal as well; racking up fast break points will be crucial against USC.

Looking ahead at this upcoming home game scheduled for January 17th at McKale Center in Tuscon – fans should expect ARIZ’s tenacity on defense and relentless pursuit of rebounds to set them apart from their competition once more. However, if victory is within reach this time around it will depend heavily upon sharpening those shooting percentages which have proven costly in past games.

Wildcats supporters should mark their calendars for this exciting encounter which tips off at local time (8:00 PM MST) on January 17th. For those unable or preferring not attend in person can catch all action live ESPN channel number being broadcast nationally through channel number ESPN (206).
