Razorbacks Outpaced by Volunteers at Bud Walton Arena

In a highly anticipated conference game, the Arkansas Razorbacks faced a challenging opponent in the Tennessee Volunteers. The Razorbacks, unranked this season, were unable to match the intensity of the eighth-ranked Volunteers, culminating in a 63-92 defeat. The home team's record now stands at an even split with an equal number of victories and setbacks, while Tennessee improved their impressive tally further.

Tennessee Volunteers VS Arkansas Razorbacks

The game unfolded at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville before an energetic crowd of 19,200 spectators. Despite a strong start that saw the Razorbacks put up 40 points in the first half against Tennessee's 46, they couldn't maintain momentum after halftime. The second half proved difficult for Arkansas as they added only 23 points to their total while Tennessee replicated their first-half performance with another 46 points.

Arkansas' efforts were led by their defense which managed to steal the ball from opponents on twelve occasions compared to nine by Tennessee. However, this defensive hustle was not enough to overcome other statistical shortcomings. The Razorbacks struggled offensively with a field goal percentage of just 38 percent and were outrebounded by the Volunteers who grabbed 36 rebounds over Arkansas' 25.

The Volunteers showcased remarkable accuracy from inside the arc shooting at an impressive rate of 68 percent on two-point attempts and dominated scoring in paint with a total of 48 points. Their free throw precision was also notable as they made good on an outstanding rate of around eighty-eight percent from the line.

Arkansas did manage some fast break opportunities scoring eleven fast break points but fell short against Tennessee's fourteen. Additionally, both teams had similar numbers when it came to capitalizing on turnovers; each scored twelve points off turnovers despite Arkansas committing three more than their opponents.

Looking ahead for fans of the Arkansas Razorbacks is another chance for redemption as they travel to face Mississippi State Bulldogs at Humphrey Coliseum located in Starkville MS on February seventeenth scheduled for one o'clock PM Central Time. This upcoming matchup can be viewed nationally on ESPNU channel two hundred eight where fans will hope for a better outcome than what transpired against Tennessee.
