Auburn's recent performance has been nothing short of impressive. On December 3rd, they dominated Colgate Raiders with a resounding 93-66 victory. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they shot an exceptional 55 percent from the field and an even more impressive 60 percent from two-point range. The team also excelled defensively, racking up eight blocks and ten steals, which contributed significantly to their fast break points tallying up to 18.

However, it wasn't just their scoring that caught the eye; it was their ability to control the game through rebounds and turnovers. With a total rebound count of 39 against Colgate's 33 and fewer turnovers (8 compared to Colgate's 12), Auburn showed that they could maintain possession and capitalize on their opponent’s mistakes.

The previous encounter against Saint Louis Billikens on November 27th further highlighted Auburn's defensive capabilities as they amassed eleven blocks while maintaining a solid shooting percentage of nearly 41 percent from the field. Despite a closer scoreline in this game (65-60), AUB demonstrated resilience under pressure—a trait that will serve them well against Memphis.

However, not all games have been smooth sailing for AUB; back on November 24th in Cancun against Northwestern Wildcats, both teams struggled offensively in what turned into a defensive slugfest ending with a narrow one-point win for Auburn (43-42). This game served as a reminder that even when shots aren't falling, defense can carry a team through tough times.

Memphis will certainly pose challenges; however, based on recent performances by AUB—particularly their high-scoring offense—it seems likely that if they maintain their shooting efficiency and continue dominating defensively through blocks and steals while controlling rebounds—they should be able to overpower Memphis.
