The game at Thompson-Boling Arena was marked by intense competition and frequent lead changes, totaling 12 throughout the contest. The scoreboard reflected a tie eight times as both teams fought for dominance. Despite a valiant effort from the Auburn side, which included scoring 40 points in the first half and improving to add another 44 in the second half, it was not enough to secure victory over Tennessee's consistent performance of scoring 44 and then adding an additional 48 points after halftime.

The Tigers showcased their agility on court with a total of ten steals and three blocks but were slightly outdone by Tennessee's five blocks. However, Auburn did manage to dish out more assists with a count of twenty compared to thirteen from their opponents. In terms of shooting accuracy from within the arc, both teams were neck-and-neck: Auburn had a two-point field goal percentage rounded up to forty-nine percent while Tennessee edged just ahead with fifty percent.

From beyond the arc, however, it was Tennessee who shone brighter with an impressive forty-one percent three-point shooting rate compared to Auburn's slightly lower rate at forty-one percent. Free throw accuracy also played its part; although both teams performed well at seventy-five percent for Auburn and seventy-seven percent for Tennessee.

Rebounding was another area where Tennessee had an edge over Auburn; pulling down thirty-seven rebounds over thirty by their counterparts. This included nine offensive rebounds for Tennessee against seven for Auburn which contributed significantly towards second-chance points where again they led thirteen to seven.

Auburn’s fast break efforts yielded eleven fast break points but this wasn't enough as they also gave away eleven points off turnovers due to sixteen turnovers during play – one less than what they forced from Tennessee who committed fourteen turnovers themselves.

Looking forward after this hard-fought game, fans can look forward to seeing if their team can bounce back when they host Mississippi State Bulldogs at Neville Arena on March 2nd at around noon local time (3:00 PM Eastern Time). This upcoming match will be broadcasted live on ESPN2 for fans unable or unwilling to miss any action as these two sides clash once more on court.
