Boise State Broncos Dominate at ExtraMile Arena Against Vanguard Lions
In a display of offensive firepower, the Boise State Broncos outscored the Vanguard Lions 89-55. The Broncos' season record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Lions fall to 0-1.
The game, held at ExtraMile Arena in Boise, saw the home team take control from the start. The Broncos put up a formidable 46 points in the first half and followed with another strong performance in the second half with 43 points. The Lions managed to score 32 points in their initial effort but fell short in their latter attempt, adding only 23 more to their total.
The Boise State Broncos showcased a balanced attack throughout the game. They excelled inside, scoring a remarkable 54 points in paint compared to just 16 by Vanguard University's team. Their shooting was particularly effective from two-point range where they hit an impressive 65 percent of their attempts. Although they struggled from beyond the arc with just an eleven percent success rate on three-pointers, it did little to slow down their overall scoring pace.
On defense, both teams were evenly matched with three blocks each; however, it was on rebounds where Boise State truly shone. They dominated with a total of sixty rebounds - forty defensive and nineteen offensive - dwarfing Vanguard's twenty-seven rebounds.
Contributing significantly to this rebounding effort were personal efforts as one Bronco player drew attention for technical reasons during play but still helped lead his team towards victory.
Vanguard University's Lions fought valiantly despite being overpowered on both ends of the court. They made six out of twenty-two three-point attempts and had eight steals which contributed to sixteen points off turnovers – matching those scored by Boise State off turnovers.
