Boise State Broncos Edged Out by San Jose State Spartans at Provident Credit Union Event Center

In a closely contested conference game, the Boise State Broncos fell to the San Jose State Spartans with a final score of 74-68. The Broncos now stand with an overall record of 0-1, while the Spartans improved to 1-0.

The game at Provident Credit Union Event Center saw the Boise State Broncos put up a resilient fight. However, personal fouls proved costly for them as they committed nineteen over the course of the game.

The team's rebounding effort resulted in thirty-two total rebounds—twenty-five defensive and four offensive—with personal rebounds accounting for twenty-nine.


The San Jose State Spartans showcased their strength inside by scoring thirty-four points in paint compared to twenty by Boise State and dominated on fast breaks with fourteen fast break points against nine from Boise State. Their defensive prowess was slightly better than that of Boise state as they blocked six shots and grabbed fifty-three rebounds—thirty defensive and sixteen offensive—which contributed significantly to their victory.


As both teams fought hard through regulation time leading into overtime where San Jose outscored Boise by six points (16-10), it was ultimately not enough for The Broncos who had aimed for victory on enemy territory.
