Broncos Buckle Up for Buffaloes Clash at UD Arena

As the Boise State Broncos prepare to face off against the Colorado Buffaloes, fans are eager to see if their team can bounce back from a recent performance that left much to be desired. In their last outing on March 15, the Broncos fell short against the New Mexico Lobos with a final score of 66-76. Despite a valiant effort in the second half where they outscored their opponents by 40 points to 41, it wasn't enough to overcome a sluggish first half.

The statistics paint a clear picture: Boise State struggled with field goal accuracy, shooting at just 29 percent from both inside and beyond the arc. However, they did show prowess from the free-throw line with an impressive 76 percent completion rate. This could be an area of advantage against Colorado if they manage to draw fouls effectively.

On defense, BSU managed six blocks and five steals but committed more personal fouils than New Mexico which might have cost them some crucial plays. Rebounding was nearly even between both teams; however, BSU's offensive rebounds were notably higher which gave them more second-chance points.

Looking at another recent game on March 9 against San Diego State Aztecs – ranked number 21 at that time – BSU showed resilience by pushing through overtime and securing a win with a score of 79-77. Their three-point shooting improved significantly in this game as they hit an encouraging rate of about 41 percent from downtown.

In contrast, when facing Nevada Wolf Pack on March 6th in front of their home crowd, BSU's performance was lackluster despite pulling through with similar numbers in terms of rebounds and turnovers compared to Nevada.

The upcoming match-up presents an opportunity for redemption for Boise State as they go head-to-head with Colorado Buffaloes at UD Arena. The Broncos will need to capitalize on their free throw efficiency while improving field goal percentages across all areas if they want to secure victory away from home soil.

BSU fans should look forward to seeing how Coach Leon Rice adjusts his strategies following these past performances and whether he can inspire his squad towards consistency throughout all four quarters.

The scheduled tip-off is set for March 20th at UD Arena in Dayton Ohio; fans can catch all the action live starting at 7:10 PM MDT on truTV.
