The BYU Cougars have been on an impressive run, as evidenced by their recent performance against Bellarmine Knights on December 23rd. The Cougars dominated the court with a staggering 101 points compared to the Knights' 59. Their offensive prowess was on full display, shooting an incredible 58 percent from the field and an astounding 80 percent from two-point range. With such high scoring efficiency, it's clear that BYU has honed their ability to find and make good shots.

Defensively, they were just as formidable. They managed seven steals and five blocks in that game alone, showcasing their defensive agility and awareness. This level of defense will be crucial when they go up against a team like West Virginia.

The Mountaineers are not a team to take lightly either; they bring their own set of strengths that could pose challenges for BYU. However, given the recent statistics from past games including those against Georgia State Panthers on December 17th where BYU scored 86 points while maintaining solid defense with nine steals, it seems likely that BYU will carry this momentum into Morgantown.

One area where BYU may need to focus is turnovers; while they've shown great assist-to-turnover ratios in previous games (3.22 against Bellarmine), maintaining possession will be key in controlling the pace of the game against West Virginia.

It's also worth noting that in each of these past performances – whether it was putting up big numbers or locking down defensively – teamwork has been central for BYU. With assists numbering well into double digits (29 assists versus Bellarmine), this is a team that thrives off creating opportunities for each other.

Looking ahead at what promises to be an electrifying match-up between these two teams, one can't help but feel optimistic about Brigham Young University's chances if they continue playing with such cohesion and sharpness.

Fans eager to catch this thrilling encounter should mark their calendars for February 3rd when these two teams clash at WVU Coliseum at 6:00 PM ET. The game will also be available for streaming via ESPN+, ensuring supporters won't miss any action from what promises to be a memorable night in college basketball.
