Haas Pavilion to Welcome Cal State Bakersfield for Men's Basketball Showdown

As the California Golden Bears prepare to welcome the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners to Haas Pavilion, fans are eager for what promises to be a thrilling encounter. The Golden Bears have shown a mixed bag of results in their recent outings, with a narrow victory against the St. Thomas Tommies and a close defeat at the hands of Pacific Tigers.

In their last game against the Tigers, despite an impressive 61 percent two-point shooting accuracy and outrebounding their opponents with 34 boards, turnovers proved costly for California. They committed 13 turnovers leading to 16 points for Pacific. However, they demonstrated resilience by scoring 17 fast break points and securing an assist-turnover ratio just shy of one.

Against St. Thomas Tommies earlier in November, California showcased better ball control with only nine turnovers while maintaining strong field goal percentages across both two-pointers (50 percent) and three-pointers (47 percent). Their defensive efforts were notable as well, with six steals contributing to their win.

The upcoming game at Haas Pavilion is expected to draw on these performances as indicators of potential success. The team's ability to maintain high shooting percentages while minimizing turnovers could be key factors in overcoming the Roadrunners' challenge.

Fans should look forward to seeing whether California can continue its trend of strong paint presence which has been pivotal in past games. Additionally, maintaining or improving upon their free throw percentage will be crucial down the stretch where games can often be decided from the line.

The match is scheduled for November 14th at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley; tip-off is set for November 14th at 7:00 PM local time (3:00 AM UTC). Fans unable to attend can catch all the action live on Pac-12 Network as both teams vie for supremacy on court.
