California Golden Bears Set to Battle Ole Miss Rebels at Frost Bank Center in Men's Basketball Showdown

As the California Golden Bears prepare to face off against the Ole Miss Rebels at the Frost Bank Center, fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be an electrifying game of basketball. The upcoming clash scheduled for mid-December is expected to be a pivotal moment for the Golden Bears, who have shown both resilience and areas for improvement in their recent outings.

Ole Miss Rebels VS California Golden Bears

In their last game on December 9th against Butler Bulldogs at Hinkle Fieldhouse, CAL showcased a high-octane offense with a remarkable 90 points on the board. Despite this offensive outburst, they fell short in a double-overtime thriller, losing by seven points. The team demonstrated depth in scoring with 42 points coming from inside the paint and an impressive three-point shooting percentage of 41 percent. However, defensive lapses allowed Butler to capitalize with 54 points in the paint and a slightly better field goal percentage overall.

Earlier this month on December 3rd at Haas Pavilion, CAL secured an emphatic victory over Santa Clara Broncos with an assertive display that ended at 84-69. Their shooting was efficient from both two-point range (56 percent) and beyond the arc (36 percent). Moreover, their free throw accuracy was nearly perfect at 93 percent. This performance was complemented by solid ball distribution leading to assists on numerous occasions.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for CAL as evidenced by their November encounter against San Diego State Aztecs where they struggled offensively. They shot just under 32 percent from the field and were particularly cold from three-point land with only a 24 percent success rate. Despite grabbing more rebounds than SDSU overall, they couldn't convert these opportunities into sufficient points on the scoreboard.

The upcoming game against Ole Miss presents another opportunity for CAL to refine their strategy and execution. If they can harness their evident offensive firepower while tightening up defensively—particularly inside—they could very well dominate proceedings against MISS.

Fans of California Golden Bears should mark their calendars for December 17th when these two teams will face each other at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio starting at 6:30 PM CT (7:30 PM ET). The game will be broadcast nationally on SEC Network channel number six hundred eleven where supporters can follow every play as it unfolds live from Texas.
