Can the California Golden Bears Outshine the Colorado Buffaloes at CU Events Center?

As the California Golden Bears prepare to face off against the Colorado Buffaloes at CU Events Center, fans are eager to see if their team can continue their recent performance trends. The Golden Bears have shown a mixed bag of results in their past few outings, with a nail-biting victory over the Washington Huskies (82-80), a tough loss against Washington State Cougars (65-84), and a close defeat by UCLA Bruins (60-61) on home turf.

The game against the Huskies highlighted California's ability to maintain composure under pressure, securing a win despite being tied 10 times and experiencing 10 lead changes. Their offensive efforts were impressive with a field goal percentage of 46 percent and free throw accuracy standing at 75 percent. They also dominated rebounds with 44 in total, which included crucial second-chance points that contributed to their narrow victory.

However, consistency has been an issue for the Golden Bears as seen in their subsequent games. Against Washington State Cougars, they struggled defensively allowing a high field goal percentage of 55 percent from their opponents while only managing to shoot at 38 percent themselves. This was followed by another defensive wobble when they hosted UCLA Bruins; despite improving slightly on shooting efficiency (40 percent field goals made), turnovers and fouls proved costly.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for redemption as well as challenges given it's an away game for California. Playing at CU Events Center could influence performance due to unfamiliarity with the venue and potential altitude adjustments in Boulder.

Fans can tune into this anticipated matchup on February 29th at midnight Pacific Time on Pac-12 Network. The question remains: will California be able to leverage its rebounding strength and improve its defensive resilience to secure another conference win? Only time will tell if they can shine through amidst these adversities.
