The California team entered the second half with a promising start of 32 points but could only add another 26 to their tally by game's end. Despite their efforts, they were outperformed by the home team's consistent scoring across both halves. The Golden Bears' shooting accuracy was below par; they made only 21 out of 60 field goal attempts resulting in a modest success rate of thirty-five percent from the field and twenty percent from beyond the arc.

The visiting team struggled to maintain possession as evidenced by their seventeen turnovers compared to Stanford's fifteen. However, they managed to convert these into twelve points off turnovers. On defense, California secured seven steals and blocked one shot but allowed nine steals and four blocks to Stanford.

Rebounding was one area where both teams were almost evenly matched; however, Stanford edged out with thirty-six rebounds over California's thirty-five. The Golden Bears did manage ten offensive rebounds contributing to eight second-chance points but fell short in converting these opportunities into a more competitive scoreline.

Free throw performance for both teams hovered around similar figures; however, it was not enough for California who made twelve free throws out of nineteen attempts (sixty-three percent), while Stanford capitalized on fourteen free throws from twenty-two attempts (sixty-four percent).
