Despite a spirited effort, including a second-half surge where they outscored their first-half performance by 16 points, it wasn't enough to secure a victory over the 14th-ranked Cardinals.

Golden Bears' Efforts and Highlights


The California Golden Bears demonstrated resilience and strategic play throughout the game. Jovan Blacksher emerged as a standout player for his team, contributing significantly with 22 points, showcasing his shooting efficiency from both beyond the arc at 57 percent and from free-throw line at an impeccable rate of 100 percent. His performance was not just limited to scoring; Blacksher also managed three assists and secured two steals.


Mady Sissoko made notable contributions on both ends of the court with eight points and an impressive tally of 13 rebounds. His presence was particularly felt on defense but also added value offensively despite limited scoring opportunities.


Rytis Petraitis showed versatility by adding seven points to his team's total while pulling down five rebounds and leading with three steals, indicating his defensive prowess alongside offensive contributions.


Cardinals' Commanding Performance


The Louisville Cardinals displayed why they are among the top-ranked teams this season with a commanding performance that saw them lead by as much as 24 points during the game. Their balanced attack was evident in both halves as they managed to score over 40 points in each period. The team's efficiency from field goals stood out at an impressive rate of 53 percent overall.


Their defense played a crucial role too, amassing seven blocks compared to just one by their opponents which contributed significantly to limiting Golden Bear's scoring opportunities inside.
