The Cincinnati Bearcats, playing on their home court, demonstrated resilience throughout the game. Despite trailing behind in scoring during both halves of play, they managed to accumulate a total of 39 rebounds compared to the Cougars' 33. The Bearcats also made an impressive effort from beyond the arc, sinking nine three-pointers out of their 26 attempts for a three-point shooting percentage of approximately 35 percent.

The home team's defense was active as well, blocking two shots and making four steals over the course of play. However, turnovers proved costly for Cincinnati; they committed a total of 17 turnovers against Houston's seven. This discrepancy allowed the visiting team to capitalize on additional scoring opportunities.

Houston Cougars showcased their offensive capabilities by converting nearly half (48 percent) of their two-point attempts and maintaining an overall field goal percentage close to 46 percent. Their free-throw performance was flawless as they hit all four attempts from the line. The Cougars were also particularly effective in generating points off turnovers with a total of 26 points resulting from Cincinnati's mistakes.

Notably, both teams displayed discipline regarding fouls; neither had any player foul out or ejected during this conference game which saw only one lead change and was tied once.

Looking ahead for fans of Cincinnati basketball: The next challenge for the Bearcats will be against East Carolina Pirates at Fifth Third Arena on January 11th at around nine o'clock PM Eastern Time.
