In front of a spirited crowd at the Fifth Third Arena, the Bearcats showcased remarkable resilience and tactical acumen. The home team's offense was firing on all cylinders as they managed to convert 55 percent of their two-point attempts and ended the game shooting 46 percent from the field overall. Their prowess in scoring was complemented by an aggressive defense that limited the Knights to just 36 percent shooting from the field.

The Bearcats' strategic execution was evident in their distribution of ball with 15 assists leading to efficient scoring opportunities. This teamwork overshadowed the Knights' commendable effort who managed only 10 assists throughout the contest. Additionally, Cincinnati capitalized on turnovers, scoring 16 points off turnovers compared to UCF's 12 points.

Cincinnati also dominated inside with a substantial advantage in points in paint (36), showcasing their ability to penetrate UCF's defense effectively. On top of that, they outrebounded UCF by ten boards (39-29), which included grabbing more offensive rebounds (12) than UCF (11), leading to crucial second-chance opportunities that resulted in ten additional points for Cincinnati.

Despite trailing at halftime with only 27 points compared to UCF's commanding lead with 39 points after two quarters, Cincinnati staged an impressive comeback during the second half by adding another robust performance of scoring additional 41 points while holding down UCF to just eighteen.

The free throw line also proved advantageous for Cincinnati as they made good on nearly three-quarters of their attempts (68 percent). In contrast, although efficient from beyond the arc hitting eight out of eighteen three-pointers for an impressive accuracy rate (44 percent), it wasn't enough for UCF against Cincinnati’s solid defense and rebounding efforts.

As both teams fought hard throughout this conference game marked by four lead changes and being tied twice; ultimately it was Cincinnati’s superior second-half performance that sealed victory under full coverage at Fifth Third Arena attended by over twelve thousand fans.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought win at home, The Cincinnati Bearcats will next face off against West Virginia Mountaineers on January 31st at WVU Coliseum located in Morgantown.
