Key Highlights from the Game

The Tigers showcased a balanced attack throughout the game, with significant contributions coming from both starters and bench players. Viktor Lakhin led the scoring for Clemson with 16 points, demonstrating efficiency on both ends of the floor with a shooting percentage of 54 percent from the field and securing 7 rebounds. Jaeden Zackery also made notable contributions with 12 points, leading in assists (4) and steals (4), highlighting his all-around performance.

Defensively, Clemson was relentless, accumulating a total of 15 steals which translated into crucial turnovers for Virginia Tech. Ian Schieffelin's presence was felt on defense as he recorded two blocks and two steals while adding five points to his team's tally.

Virginia Tech struggled to find their rhythm offensively against a stout Clemson defense. They managed to shoot only 41 percent from the field and were particularly challenged beyond the arc where they hit just eight out of twenty-five attempts (32 percent). Despite these struggles, they showed resilience in rebounding by collecting thirty boards over the course of the game.

Player Performances and Team Dynamics

Aside from Lakhin's standout performance for Clemson Tigers, other players also stepped up during critical moments. Del Jones provided an offensive spark off the bench by contributing eight points on an efficient shooting night where he made sixty percent of his shots from field goal range.

The Hokies' effort was spearheaded by their bench players who contributed twenty-four points towards their total scoreline but ultimately fell short against a more cohesive Tiger unit that excelled in converting turnovers into twenty-five points off turnovers.

Clemson’s dominance in paint was evident as they scored forty-four points inside compared to Virginia Tech's twenty. This inside presence coupled with fast break opportunities allowed them to maintain control throughout both halves.
