Clemson Tigers' Early Roar Silenced by BYU Cougars' Second-Half Surge at Madison Square Garden

First Half


The first half saw an impressive performance from Clemson, as they took control early on. The Tigers built a significant lead, thanks in part to their effective shooting and defensive efforts. RJ Godfrey was instrumental during this period, contributing 13 points with an impressive field goal percentage of 71 percent. His efforts helped Clemson establish a commanding presence on both ends of the court.


Second Half


However, as play resumed after halftime, BYU began to claw back into contention. The Cougs capitalized on their opportunities and tightened their defense significantly. Their ability to score in transition was evident as they accumulated fast break points that shifted momentum in their favor.

Despite leading by as much as 22 points earlier in the game, Clemson struggled offensively during this period and managed only 21 points compared to BYU's surge of 45 points. Jestin Porter tried valiantly to keep his team afloat with his contribution of 17 points and four assists but ultimately fell short against BYU's relentless attack.


Final Moments


In what became a nail-biting finish for fans at Madison Square Garden, both teams exchanged leads multiple times before BYU secured victory through clutch plays down the stretch—a testament not only to their resilience but also highlighting areas where post-game analysis suggests improvement is needed for Clemson moving forward.
