First Half

The first half saw both teams battling fiercely, with Stanford taking an early lead by scoring 32 points against Clemson's 30. The Cardinal's defense was particularly effective, recording a total of 10 steals and maintaining a slight edge over the Tigers throughout much of this period. However, Nick Davidson from Clemson stood out with his impressive shooting accuracy, contributing significantly to keeping his team within striking distance.

Second Half

In the second half, Clemson turned up their offensive intensity. Ace Buckner played a pivotal role in orchestrating plays that led to crucial points during fast breaks and transitions. The Tigers managed to outscore Stanford by six points in this half, thanks largely to their bench players who contributed an impressive total of 43 points overall.

Final Moments

As the game drew towards its conclusion, it was clear that every possession mattered. With just minutes left on the clock and trailing by two points after an unanswered run from Stanford that brought them back into contention at 53-46 against them earlier on; Chase Thompson made a decisive play that swung momentum back towards Clemson’s favor—securing rebounds and drawing fouls which allowed them more opportunities at free throws where they excelled with a conversion rate of 77 percent.

Despite multiple lead changes throughout this tightly contested matchup—a total of eight times—the resilience shown by both teams kept fans on edge until those final moments when ultimately it would be Davidson’s clutch performance alongside Buckner’s strategic assists which sealed victory for visiting side: “Tigers”.
