Colorado Buffaloes Set to Battle Arizona State Sun Devils at CU Events Center

As the Colorado Buffaloes prepare to host the Arizona State Sun Devils at the CU Events Center, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying matchup. The Buffaloes have shown a resilience that could very well tip the scales in their favor come game day.

In their last home game on November 27 against Yale Bulldogs, the Buffaloes secured a narrow victory with a final score of 65-62. This win was characterized by their ability to capitalize on turnovers, scoring 15 points off Yale's mistakes. With an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.25, it's clear that Colorado values ball security and efficient playmaking – two critical factors that will be essential against ASU.

The defensive prowess displayed by COLO in recent games cannot be overlooked either. They out-blocked Yale with five blocks and managed eight steals, which contributed significantly to their win. Their ability to disrupt opponents' offense will be crucial when facing ASU's attack.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for COLO; they struggled beyond the arc against Yale, shooting just 22 percent from three-point range. To emerge victorious against ASU, they'll need to improve from distance or compensate with strong two-point field goal percentages and paint dominance as they did by scoring 38 points in the paint during that same game.

Looking back at another recent performance on November 21 against Boise State Broncos where COLO fell short (55-68), it’s evident that rebounding can make or break a game for them. Despite having more total rebounds than Boise State (39-40), personal fouls and free throw percentages were areas where improvements could have made a difference.

On a brighter note, COLO fans still reminisce about their explosive offensive display during the Consolation Semifinals - Game 1 on November 18 when they put up an impressive triple-digit score of 103 points against Texas A&M Aggies' defense ranked at number 24 nationally at that time. That day showcased what this team is capable of when firing on all cylinders: sharing the ball effectively leading to twenty-two assists and capitalizing from deep with fifty percent accuracy from three-point land.

With these past performances in mind, there is reason for optimism among Buffaloes supporters who believe their team has what it takes to overcome challenges posed by ASU’s squad.

The upcoming clash between Colorado Buffaloes and Arizona State Sun Devils is scheduled for December 2nd at CU Events Center in Boulder starting at 6:30 PM local time (Mountain Time Zone).
