Clash at Moby Arena: Colorado State Rams to Host New Mexico Lobos

As the Colorado State Rams prepare to host the New Mexico Lobos at Moby Arena, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a riveting encounter. The Rams' recent performances have set the stage for an electrifying game, and there's every reason to believe they will continue their dominant streak.

Looking back at the February 25th game against Wyoming Cowboys, CSU showcased a high-octane offense that was nothing short of spectacular. With an impressive field goal percentage of 59 and converting 90 percent from the free-throw line, they cruised to an 84-71 victory. Their two-point shooting was particularly lethal, hitting nearly 67 percent of their attempts. This kind of offensive firepower is exactly what will put UNM on their heels.

However, it wasn't just about scoring; CSU also demonstrated a well-rounded team performance with 19 assists reflecting excellent ball distribution and teamwork. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood at a commendable 1.73, indicating efficient ball handling which will be crucial in dismantling UNM's defense.

In contrast, during their last outing on March 1st against San Jose State Spartans, CSU struggled as they were held to just 46 points – a stark reminder that basketball can be unforgiving and even the best offenses can have off nights. They shot only around 37 percent from both field goals and free throws while managing just five three-pointers on a subpar shooting night from beyond the arc.

The upcoming game offers CSU an opportunity for redemption after this stumble. It's imperative that they regain their shooting form seen against Wyoming if they wish to overcome UNM's challenge.

On defense, CSU needs to tighten up compared to their last performance where San Jose outrebounded them by six boards and blocked seven shots compared to none by CSU – showing room for improvement in interior defense and rebounding effort.

UNM comes into this matchup with its own set of strengths but facing off against a determined Rams squad in Fort Collins is no easy task. The Lobos will need more than just grit; strategic execution on both ends of the floor is essential if they hope to upset CSU on its home court.

The scheduled tip-off is set for March 4th at Moby Arena in Fort Collins under bright lights with national coverage provided by Fox Sports 1 on channel number two hundred nineteen starting at nine PM Mountain Time (11 PM Eastern). Fans not able to make it in person can catch all the action live as it unfolds right from their living rooms or local viewing spots across Colorado State University’s proud community.
