The game was characterized by frequent lead changes and both teams showing determination on the court. The Colorado State Rams started strong, putting up 36 points in the first half against Fresno State's 29. However, in a reversal of fortunes during the second half, it was Fresno State who outscored Colorado State by five points, but it wasn't enough to overcome their initial deficit.

The Rams showcased their defensive skills with five steals and two blocks throughout the game. Their offensive efforts were led by converting nearly 44 percent of field goal attempts and making seven three-pointers at an impressive rate of about 37 percent. Free throws were also crucial for Colorado State as they made 18 out of 24 attempts.

On offense, Colorado State's players worked together to rack up 11 assists but had some challenges with ball control resulting in twelve turnovers. Despite this, they managed to capitalize on turnovers better than their opponents by scoring 16 points off them compared to Fresno's twelve.

Fresno fought hard and excelled in certain areas; they shot over half their two-point attempts successfully and were nearly perfect from the free-throw line with nine makes on ten attempts. They also dominated inside scoring with a total of 32 points in paint compared to Colorado's fourteen.

Rebounding was fairly even between both teams; however, Fresno edged out slightly with four more total rebounds than Colorado’s thirty-one. The Bulldogs' defense put up five blocks and grabbed four steals but committed nineteen personal fouls which contributed to many free throw opportunities for Colorado.

As fans look forward to future games, attention turns toward another challenging encounter for the Colorado State Rams as they prepare to face off against San Diego State Aztecs at Thomas & Mack Center once again. This upcoming game is scheduled for March ninth at eight PM Eastern Time (five PM Pacific Time). Fans can catch all live action broadcasted nationally on CBS Sports Network channel two hundred twenty-one.
