Rams Edge Out Runnin' Rebels in a Close Encounter at Moby Arena

The first half ended with the Rams trailing by seven points as they scored 32 to UNLV's 39. However, an impressive second-half performance saw them outscore the visitors with 46 points to 36. This comeback was fueled by an efficient shooting night from Colorado State; they shot 49 percent from the field and an outstanding 63 percent on two-point attempts.


Colorado State's defense played a pivotal role in their win, accumulating ten steals and converting these opportunities into critical points off turnovers; they scored 18 compared to UNLV's ten. Additionally, fast break points were crucial for the Rams as they outpaced their opponents with 15 fast break points.


The team also excelled in ball distribution and care; they tallied up an impressive total of 21 assists while maintaining a favorable assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.63. Their free-throw accuracy was notable as well – sinking shots at an impressive rate of around eighty-eight percent.


On the other side of the court, UNLV showcased strong shooting skills themselves with fifty-one percent field goal shooting and ninety-two percent from the free-throw line. They also dominated inside scoring thirty points in paint and securing thirty-one rebounds over Colorado State's twenty-five.


Despite these efforts by UNLV, it was Colorado State's ability to maintain pressure throughout that ultimately led them to victory before a crowd of eight thousand eighty-three spectators who witnessed this intense battle unfold.
