Duke Blue Devils Dominate Pittsburgh Panthers with Sharp Shooting at Petersen Events Center

In a display of offensive efficiency, the Duke Blue Devils secured a commanding victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers with a final score of 75-53. The Blue Devils, ranked 11th nationally, improved their record to an impressive mark while the Panthers' struggles continued as they failed to notch another win. The first half saw the Blue Devils take control early, racking up 48 points to the Panthers' 23 and never looking back.

Pittsburgh Panthers VS Duke Blue Devils

The Duke team showcased their shooting prowess by hitting 52 percent from the field and an exceptional 58 percent on two-point attempts. Their sharpshooting was complemented by converting 44 percent from beyond the arc, sinking 11 three-pointers in total. On defense, they were just as dominant with five blocks and five steals contributing to their robust performance.

Ball distribution was key for Duke's offense as they tallied up a notable total of 19 assists which helped maintain their lead throughout the game. They also capitalized on turnovers scoring 15 points off Panther mistakes while only committing a total of fourteen turnovers themselves.

The rebounding battle was decisively won by Duke who pulled down an impressive count of personal rebounds leading to ten fast break points and eight second-chance points which kept momentum firmly in their favor. Their control under both baskets was evident as they grabbed more defensive rebounds than Pittsburgh's entire rebound count.

The Panthers did show resilience in certain aspects; particularly noteworthy was their free throw accuracy where they made six out of seven attempts resulting in an admirable free throw percentage rate. However, this precision from the line wasn't enough to overcome their overall field goal percentage which stood at just thirty-three percent or match Duke's offensive output.

Looking ahead for fans of Duke basketball, attention now turns back home where Cameron Indoor Stadium will host an exciting matchup against Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on January 13 at nine o'clock Eastern Time. This game will be broadcast nationally on ACC Network channel six hundred twelve for those eager to catch every play live.
