In what was an evenly matched contest, the Owls and the Mean Green exchanged leads seven times and found themselves tied on eleven occasions. The home team's resilience shone through as they outscored their opponents by five points in the second half to clinch the win. A pivotal moment came when the Owls capitalized on their fast break opportunities, scoring 12 points compared to just four by the Mean Green.

The defensive efforts of both teams were evident throughout the game with each side registering three blocks. However, it was Florida Atlantic's ability to convert from beyond the arc that proved crucial; they made nine three-pointers at a rate of 35 percent against eight by North Texas at a slightly higher rate of 40 percent.

Florida Atlantic also demonstrated superiority on rebounds with a total of 38 compared to North Texas' 31. This included securing more offensive rebounds (13 for FAU versus ten for UNT), which allowed them additional second-chance points totaling twelve – equaling that of UNT.

The free throw line saw Florida Atlantic making nine out of fifteen attempts which translated into a success rate rounded off to sixty percent; meanwhile, North Texas had fewer opportunities but managed to convert seventy-five percent of theirs.

Steals were another area where Florida Atlantic showed dominance with seven steals over five by North Texas. This defensive pressure contributed to twelve turnovers for UNT while FAU had thirteen turnovers themselves but managed an assists turnover ratio less than that achieved by their opponents (0.92 against UNT's ratio rounded off to approximately one).

Despite committing fewer personal fouls (eleven) than North Texas (seventeen), both teams played disciplined basketball without any player being fouled out or ejected from play.

As fans look ahead after this hard-fought battle at FAU Arena witnessed by three thousand one hundred sixty-one spectators, attention turns towards future matchups for both teams in conference play.

Looking forward, fans can anticipate another exciting game as Florida Atlantic Owls will host Tulsa Golden Hurricane at FAU Arena located in Boca Raton on February third scheduled for six PM Eastern Time. The match will be available for viewing via ESPN+ online network ensuring supporters won't miss any action from this upcoming encounter.
