Owls Soar High Over Golden Hurricane in Dominant Display at FAU Arena

The Florida Atlantic Owls, ranked 20th, delivered a commanding performance against the unranked Golden Hurricane with a final score of 102-70. The Owls now boast an impressive record, while the Golden Hurricane's standing reflects their struggle to find consistency on the court.

At FAU Arena in Boca Raton, fans witnessed the Florida Atlantic Owls' offensive onslaught as they scored 40 points in the first half and ramped up their efforts to add an astonishing 62 points in the second. The home team's field goal percentage was a remarkable 53 percent overall, with a particularly strong showing from two-point range where they hit 65 percent of their attempts. Their prowess from beyond the arc was also notable as they made 38 percent of their three-point shots.

The Owls' defense was equally impressive, racking up nine steals and two blocks over the course of play. They dominated rebounds with a total of 43 compared to the Golden Hurricane's 35. This included securing six offensive rebounds which contributed to their second-chance points tallying up to 14.

Florida Atlantic's fast break execution was another highlight as they accumulated an impressive total of fast break points at nearly triple that of Tulsa’s effort. Additionally, their free throw accuracy was exceptional; hitting an outstanding rate at around nine out of ten attempts from the line.

On Tulsa’s side, despite trailing behind in many aspects, they managed to maintain a respectable free throw percentage at approximately four out five successful shots and were able to score more than half their two-point attempts. However, struggles were evident beyond the arc where only about one out seven three-pointers found its mark.

The game saw some aggressive play resulting in personal fouls - with Tulsa committing slightly more infractions than Florida Atlantic - but neither team had players foul out or ejected from play.

Looking ahead for Florida Atlantic fans eager for more action-packed basketball: The next game will see your beloved Owls travel away from home turf to face off against UAB Blazers at Bartow Arena located in Birmingham on February 8th at around eight o'clock PM Eastern Time Zone. This encounter will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 channel number two hundred nine for those who wish to follow along live.
