The game, held at Chiles Center in Portland, was marked by a strong defensive effort from both teams. The Florida Gators managed to block nine shots but were outrebounded by the Mountaineers who grabbed 49 rebounds compared to the Gators' 28. Despite this disadvantage on the boards, Florida's defense still made its presence felt with six steals over the course of play.

Offensively, it was a tough outing for Florida as they struggled with their shooting accuracy. They finished with a field goal percentage of 35 percent and were particularly challenged beyond the arc where they only converted two out of 17 attempts for an eleven percent three-point shooting rate. Inside scoring was more effective for them as they accumulated 34 points in paint.

The team's free throw performance also left room for improvement; hitting just under sixty percent from the line on thirteen successful free throws out of twenty-two attempts. Ball handling proved problematic too; Florida turned over possession fourteen times though they did manage to score six points off turnovers created by their defense.

West Virginia capitalized on these opportunities more efficiently than their opponents did. They scored twenty points off turnovers and added fifteen second-chance points thanks to twelve offensive rebounds which contributed significantly to their victory margin.

Looking ahead, fans can catch The Florida Gators back in action against The Florida A&M Rattlers at Exactech Arena at Stephen C. O'Connell Center located in Gainesville, FL on December first at eight PM Eastern Time. This upcoming game will be available for viewing via SEC Network+ online platform ensuring supporters won't miss any live action as their team looks to bounce back from this setback.
