Panthers Prevail at Ocean Bank Convocation Center in Men's Basketball Showdown

In a competitive match-up at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center, the Florida International Panthers emerged victorious over the Maine Black Bears with a final score of 82-74. The Panthers now hold an impressive record, while the Black Bears stand with their own tally.

The home crowd was treated to an exciting game as the Florida International Panthers showcased their dominance on their home court. The first half ended closely, with the Panthers trailing by just one point at 35-36. However, they turned up the heat in the second half, outscoring their opponents by nine points to seal a decisive victory.


The Panthers' offense was firing on all cylinders as they shot an impressive 51 percent from field goal range and 61 percent for two-point attempts. Their three-point shooting was also notable at approximately 35 percent success rate. Free throws were another area where they excelled, making about 67 percent of their shots from the line.


Defensively, Florida International proved to be formidable as well; they outrebounded Maine with a total of 42 rebounds compared to Maine's 26. This included a significant advantage in offensive rebounds where they led 13-6. The defensive effort also featured five blocks and five steals which contributed to disrupting Maine's flow.


Maine put up a strong fight throughout and managed to keep things close for much of the game thanks largely to scoring 42 points in paint and converting fast break opportunities into ten points. They showed accuracy from two-point range hitting approximately 56 percent of those shots but struggled beyond the arc with only around a 28 percent success rate for three-pointers.


The Black Bears were more disciplined with turnovers than their counterparts committing only eleven compared to seventeen by Florida International but still fell short overall despite this advantage and having scored sixteen points off turnovers.


Looking ahead, fans can mark their calendars for when Florida International takes on Utah Tech Trailblazers at Burns Arena located in St George on December 30th at around five PM Eastern Time zone broadcasted over ESPN+. This will be another opportunity for fans to support their team as they continue through this season's schedule without any assumptions or predictions about what may unfold on that day.
