The Panthers showcased their offensive capabilities by maintaining a lead throughout both halves, scoring 38 and 39 points respectively.

The Panthers' performance was marked by exceptional shooting accuracy from beyond the arc, converting 54 percent of their three-point attempts. This sharpshooting contributed significantly to their total field goal percentage of 48 percent. The team also capitalized on opportunities at the free-throw line, making 24 out of 32 attempts for a solid free throw percentage of 75 percent.

Defensively, Florida International made its presence felt with two blocks and four steals that helped disrupt the Aggies' rhythm. The defensive efforts were complemented by an efficient ball-handling display as evidenced by an assists turnover ratio of 1.3. Despite being outrebounded with only one offensive rebound compared to five by New Mexico State and totaling fewer rebounds overall (27 against New Mexico State's 32), FIU managed to maintain control of the game flow.

The home team's ability to score off turnovers was another key factor in their victory; they scored a remarkable total of 21 points from turnovers committed by New Mexico State. In contrast, the Aggies managed only half that number from Panther turnovers.

New Mexico State put up a valiant effort despite falling short on the scoreboard. They shot at a respectable rate from two-point range at nearly half success rate (47 percent) and maintained an overall field goal percentage of 41 percent throughout the game. Their free throw accuracy was notable as well, sinking shots at an impressive rate (80 percent). However, they struggled from three-point land with just seven makes out of twenty-two attempts for a three-point shooting percentage rounding down to approximately one-third success rate.

As for individual performances on both sides, there were standout players who made significant contributions but specific player statistics are not provided in this summary.

Looking ahead for Florida International Panthers fans: The next challenge will be against UTEP Miners right here in Miami at Ocean Bank Convocation Center on January 13th at around six o'clock in the evening Eastern Time Zone.
