This game brought the Seminoles' season record to an even split, while the Hokies improved their standing with a significant win. Seminoles' Second-Half Surge

The Florida State Seminoles showcased remarkable resilience and determination as they attempted to overturn a substantial deficit from the first half. With an impressive 51 points in the second half alone, they demonstrated their offensive capabilities but fell short due to earlier setbacks. Key players emerged during this period; notably, Taylor Bol Bowen led with 14 points and nine rebounds, contributing significantly on both ends of the court. Jerry Deng also made his presence felt by adding 13 points and four rebounds.

Despite these individual performances and an overall team field goal percentage of 40 percent alongside converting eight out of twenty-five three-point attempts into scores (32 percent), turnovers proved costly for FSU. The team gave up possession eleven times which allowed Virginia Tech to capitalize on these mistakes.

Hokies Hold Their Ground

On the opposing side, Virginia Tech's balanced attack was evident through their consistent scoring in both halves and maintaining control over rebounds with a total of forty-two compared to FSU's thirty-nine. The Hokies were particularly effective from beyond the arc hitting ten out of twenty-six attempts (38 percent). Their ability to draw fouls and convert free throws at a rate of sixty percent also played into their hands by keeping them ahead on scoreboard.

Virginia Tech's defense was another highlight as they managed nine steals and blocked one shot while only allowing FSU minimal opportunities for easy baskets inside paint despite FSU’s efforts which resulted in sixteen made shots from within paint area.
