In their last game on December 23 against the San Francisco Dons, Fresno State faced a tough defeat with a final score of 57-77. Despite putting up 34 points in the first half, they couldn't maintain that momentum and were outplayed in every statistical category. The team's three-point shooting was particularly concerning at just 17 percent. However, it's worth noting that they managed an impressive 63 percent from inside the arc and contributed a solid 30 points in paint.

The Bulldogs' resilience was tested earlier on December 19 against Portland State Vikings where they pushed through into overtime but ultimately fell short by three points with a final score of 72-75. Their two-point field goal percentage stood strong at around 53 percent and they dominated in paint scoring with a total of 40 points. Yet turnovers and free throw percentages were areas where improvement was clearly needed.

On December 16, facing Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners, Fresno State secured a narrow victory with a scoreline reading 61-58. This game showcased their ability to close out tight contests—a skill that will be crucial against Air Force Falcons. With an impressive field goal percentage of nearly half their attempts and controlling play inside with strong paint scoring (36 points), it demonstrated what Fresno can do when firing on all cylinders.

The upcoming match-up presents an opportunity for redemption for FRES as they look to tighten up defensively while capitalizing on high-percentage shots within the arc which has been one of their strengths this season.

Air Force Falcons come into this game not without their own challenges but have shown tenacity throughout their campaign thus far. They'll certainly test FRES's defense and resolve; however, if recent games are any indication, it is clear that when playing cohesively as one unit—especially at home—the Bulldogs have what it takes to emerge victorious.

Fans should mark January 27th on their calendars as tip-off is scheduled for midnight local time at Save Mart Center in Fresno. For those unable to attend in person, you can catch all the action live via MW Network online broadcast network.
