Can the Bulldogs Outmaneuver the Aztecs at Save Mart?

As the Fresno State Bulldogs prepare to host the San Diego State Aztecs at Save Mart Center, fans are eager to see if their team can maintain their momentum after a nail-biting victory against Air Force on February 10th. The Bulldogs edged out a win with 68 points over Air Force's 66, showcasing a solid performance from beyond the arc with an impressive three-point percentage of 62.

The Bulldogs' recent form has been a mixed bag, but there are positive signs that could spell trouble for SDSU. In their last three games, FRES has shown they can score both inside and outside the paint. Against Colorado State on February 4th, despite falling short by just two baskets with a final score of 61-73, they shot an encouraging free throw percentage of 89 and maintained a field goal percentage of 46.

However, turnovers have been an Achilles' heel for FRES; in that same game against Colorado State, they gave up possession twelve times. This is something Coach Justin Hutson will need to address in practice sessions leading up to this crucial matchup.

On defense, Fresno State has room for improvement as well. While they managed seven steals against Air Force and blocked two shots in that game – statistics that demonstrate defensive potential – consistency will be key against an SDSU team known for its offensive prowess.

The Aztecs come into this game with confidence but must not underestimate FRES's ability to rally under pressure. With home-court advantage and fan support at Save Mart Center on their side, it’s possible we’ll see another close contest similar to what transpired in Colorado Springs earlier this month.

Looking ahead to February 24th at 7:00 PM PST when these two teams clash on CBS Sports Network channel 221; Fresno State fans should expect nothing less than full-throttle intensity from tip-off until the final buzzer. The question remains: Can FRES sharpen their execution and reduce turnovers enough to secure victory? Only time will tell if they can leverage their strengths and capitalize on home-court advantage when it counts most.
