Fresno State Bulldogs Set to Challenge Nevada Wolf Pack in Reno Showdown

In their last outing on February 18th against Boise State Broncos, FRES faced a tough defeat with a final score of 66-90. Despite this setback, there were glimmers of hope as they managed to maintain an assists turnover ratio of 2.4 and secured eight points off turnovers. However, their field goal percentage stood at just 42 percent and free throws at an underwhelming 42 percent as well - numbers that will need to be bolstered if they hope to outperform NEV.

Looking back further into the season provides additional insights into FRES's capabilities. On February 15th against UNLV Runnin' Rebels, the Bulldogs showcased defensive prowess with eight steals and capitalized on turnovers by scoring 12 points from them. Their free throw accuracy was impressive at 78 percent alongside a strong two-point shooting performance (64 percent). Yet again though, three-point attempts were not as successful with only a 24 percent completion rate.

The game before that on February 10th saw FRES narrowly edge out Air Force Falcons with a scoreline of 68-66. The team's three-point shooting was exceptional at an astonishing rate of 62 percent; however, it was overshadowed by high turnover numbers - something they cannot afford against NEV.

The Nevada Wolf Pack will not make things easy for FRES; boasting solid performances in recent games including efficient two-point field goals (74 percent) and overall field goal percentage (59 percent) in their last game versus Boise State Broncos indicates NEV's offensive threat.

For Fresno State Bulldogs to emerge victorious in Reno on March 1st at Lawlor Events Center, key improvements are necessary: enhancing field goal percentages across the board while curbing turnovers will be crucial strategies for success. Additionally, replicating or improving upon past defensive efforts can disrupt NEV’s rhythm and provide opportunities for fast-break points which have been beneficial for FRES previously.
