The game was held at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, where an attendance of 4,589 fans witnessed a battle that saw six ties and nine lead changes throughout the contest. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets showcased their offensive skills by shooting an impressive field goal percentage of 46 percent and converting more than half of their two-point attempts with a success rate of 52 percent. They also demonstrated efficiency from beyond the arc with five three-pointers made out of fifteen attempts for a three-point percentage of 33 percent.

Defensively, Georgia Tech managed to block five shots and steal possession four times from their opponents. Their tenacity on defense was matched by their discipline as they committed only sixteen personal fouls during the game. On the rebounding front, they secured thirty-one boards – twenty-six defensively and five offensively – which contributed significantly to maintaining possession.

However, despite these efforts and leading in points scored within the paint with twenty-eight points compared to Notre Dame's twenty points in this area, turnovers proved costly for Georgia Tech as they gave up ten possessions throughout the game. This allowed Notre Dame to capitalize on seven points off turnovers.

The Fighting Irish had their own set of challenges but managed to overcome them through sheer determination at critical moments. They struggled from field goal range with just thirty-two percent accuracy but excelled at free throws where they achieved seventy-seven percent success rate making seventeen out of twenty-two attempts.

As both teams fought hard until the last buzzer sounded; it was ultimately Notre Dame's ability to convert second-chance opportunities into twenty points that edged them ahead in this conference game showdown.

Looking ahead after this nail-biter encounter, fans can catch Georgia Tech back on home turf as they prepare for their next challenge against Syracuse Orange. The upcoming game is scheduled for February 17th at Hank McCamish Pavilion located in Atlanta GA; tip-off is set for 5:30 PM Eastern Time. Supporters eager not miss any action can tune into The CW network for national television coverage.
