The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets emerged victorious in a closely contested battle against the Syracuse Orange, with a final score of 65-60. The Yellow Jackets now stand at an even record, while the Orange fall further behind.

In front of 6,241 spectators at Hank McCamish Pavilion, the home team displayed resilience and tactical acumen to overcome their opponents. The first half saw Georgia Tech take a slight edge with 34 points over Syracuse's 30. Maintaining their momentum into the second half, they added another 31 points to seal their victory.


Georgia Tech's performance was marked by a superior rebounding effort as they amassed an impressive total of 49 rebounds compared to Syracuse's 30. This dominance on the glass was pivotal for second-chance opportunities and limiting Syracuse’s offensive plays. The Yellow Jackets also excelled at free throws with an outstanding accuracy rate of 83 percent, making ten out of twelve attempts.

Offensively, Georgia Tech showcased balanced scoring with contributions across the board. They shot at a rate of 39 percent from the field and were particularly effective from beyond the arc hitting seven out of twenty-five three-point attempts which translated to a solid three-point shooting percentage of 28 percent.


Defensively, both teams registered two blocks each but it was in steals where Syracuse showed prowess with twelve steals against Georgia Tech’s six; however, this did not deter the home team from maintaining control throughout most aspects of play.

The game saw its fair share of lead changes – five in total – along with six instances where scores were tied reflecting how competitive this conference game truly was. Despite turning over possession seventeen times compared to Syracuse’s seven turnovers, Georgia Tech managed to keep their composure under pressure.
