In front of a crowd of 7,730 at the Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas, the home team displayed an effective offensive performance. The Cougars shot an impressive 45 percent from the field and were particularly dominant inside the paint where they scored 38 points. Their two-point shooting percentage was notable at nearly 59 percent.

Defensively, Houston showed tenacity with a total of 13 steals and matched Memphis's three blocks. This defensive effort contributed to their advantage in points off turnovers; they capitalized on Memphis's mistakes for a total of 22 points.

On offense, assists were slightly higher for Houston than for Memphis with ten assists compared to nine by the visiting team. However, it was on fast breaks that Houston truly shined; they outscored Memphis with an impressive tally of fast break points totaling to seventeen.

The rebounding battle was closely contested but ultimately won by Memphis who gathered thirty-four rebounds against Houston's thirty. Despite this disadvantage in rebounds, it did not deter the Cougars from maintaining control throughout most aspects of the game.

Memphis did have some strong statistics despite falling short on the scoreboard. They shot forty-four percent overall and landed six three-pointers at a forty percent success rate which kept them within striking distance throughout both halves. Their efforts inside resulted in thirty-two points in paint and they managed to add nine second-chance points as well as nine fast break points themselves.

Looking ahead for fans eager to support their team once more: The next game for the Houston Cougars will be held against Tulane Green Wave right here at Fertitta Center on February twenty-second starting at eight PM Central Time (CT).
