The Houston Cougars showcased their dominance early on, ending the first half with a solid lead and continuing their momentum into the second half. Their offensive efforts were particularly notable as they managed to sink 29 out of 62 field goal attempts, resulting in a commendable shooting percentage of 47 percent from the field. The team's prowess was also evident from beyond the arc where they hit eight three-pointers at a rate of 35 percent.

Defensively, the Cougars were just as formidable. They amassed seven blocks and an impressive total of thirteen steals throughout the game. This defensive pressure contributed to a significant number of points off turnovers for Houston, tallying up to nineteen – showcasing their ability to capitalize on their opponents' mistakes.

The rebounding battle was also won by Houston who collected forty-five rebounds compared to thirty-four by Texas. Of those forty-five rebounds for Houston, sixteen were offensive boards which led to fourteen second-chance points – highlighting their tenacity on both ends of the floor.

Houston's fast break execution was another highlight as they scored sixteen fast break points against Texas' seven. This aspect underscored Houston's ability to control game tempo and convert defense into quick scoring opportunities.

On an individual level, free throw performance was mixed for both teams; however, it is worth noting that despite only making sixty-two percent from the line, this did not significantly hinder Houston's overall scoring efficiency.

As for personal fouls committed during this intense conference game attended by seven thousand nine hundred four fans at Fertitta Center in Houston – both teams played aggressively yet within limits as neither team had players foul out or ejected from play.

Looking ahead after this comprehensive victory over Texas Longhorns at home ground Fertitta Center in front of local supporters; fans can anticipate watching more action-packed basketball when University of Iowa State Cyclones visit next week Monday evening at eight o'clock central time zone live nationally broadcasted on ESPN channel two hundred six.
