Illinois Fighting Illini Dominate at State Farm Center Against Southern University Jaguars

The Illinois Fighting Illini, ranked 23rd, showcased a commanding performance at the State Farm Center against the unranked Southern University Jaguars. The home team's record improved to an impressive 88-60 victory over their opponents.

The Illinois Fighting Illini demonstrated remarkable efficiency from inside the arc, converting an outstanding 76 percent of their two-point attempts. Their offensive execution was on full display as they amassed a total of 62 points in the paint. The team's overall field goal percentage stood at a solid 57 percent with a total of 36 field goals made throughout the game. On defense, they managed to block three shots and steal the ball four times, contributing to their dominant display.


On top of that, Illinois showed superior ball distribution with a total of 18 assists which played a crucial role in their fluid offense. Despite turning over the ball 21 times, they maintained an assist-to-turnover ratio close to one (0.86), indicating effective passing and teamwork.

The Jaguars did manage some notable statistics despite being outplayed overall. They were able to generate turnovers effectively with thirteen steals leading directly to them scoring sixteen points off those turnovers.
